It's Official....I'm LIVE!

How do I ever thank my friends Mike and Candice Lange for their help in bringing this web site to life? Mike only did this little creative task as a friend. (Website design is not his usual business). He's actually an incredible programmer and I owe him so much for spending the past two nights with me working on formatting the style of my site. It cost me hours of back massages while he worked on it, but I think you'll agree - the effort was well worth it. THANKS Mike! :)

Amateur Alert! I created the design for the header. (Hot isn't it? ;) Mike recruited his artistic whiz brother Steven to shrink the header and "make it sexy" for the web and I think he did an incredible job. I LOVE my site!

Thanks again Lange family for everything.

Candice also has a site! You can find her at: http://www.candicelange.com

Mike and Candice's son, Corey, has cerebral palsy and Candice has put together a wealth of information and resources for anyone who must face the challenges of caring for a special needs child. I love you Candice.

Coming Soon - "Diamonds and Decadence"

My first novel, "Diamonds and Decadence" is finished! I presented this labor of love last week at the Romance Writer's of America (RWA) conference in Dallas. Both the agent and publisher I interviewed with were interested and asked me to submit my manuscript. Wish me luck!

Perceptions...

I'm a member of the RWA Chapter "Passionate Ink". Here are some excerpts from my "soapbox" discussion on the perception of the erotic romance genre of writing:

There is obvious frustration by ER writers wanting to be taken seriously. I love reading the proactive dialogue and know it will continue. After all, we share a passion for writing of all things passionate in this forum.

So as I see it, ER writers & their publishers have a tremendous opportunity before them and this in an exciting time for all. It's more important than ever to educate and rise above all the pettiness; portraying ER as the deeply sensual journey it is with class and professionalism. Build the excitement and the sensuality....they WILL come!

How do I know? I'm an engineer by day and a romance writer by night/weekend. I love nothing more than to come home, let my hair down, and immerse myself in reading/writing that completely satisfies me. I choose ER stories because I enjoy the FULL sexual experience, something which won't leave me teased, but instead pleased in every way.

By the same token, I've been with my husband for 28 years. With ER I can reach out and experience my "closet" fantasies without hurting those I love.

Therein lies the strength of ER. In a roundabout way I truly believe we are helping build healthy relationships for our readers, not trying to destroy them. I have a hunch this is what those less informed about our genre fear most.

With members like Angela (Knight) taking the proactive stance and writing books to educate as well as considering a position on the board to support the genre of ER the misguided perceptions will dissipate. It just takes patience and perseverance on all our parts.
